I decided to try Blogger to see if I liked it better. It does have more features I can put on it to personalize it so please bookmark it so you can keep caught up with me.

It's going to be a busy month for us. The week will be busy enough! This Monday I will have my nephews. Tuesday I go to the doctor for a check up and stuff for my job. My mom would also like me to come and pick their green beans since they are on vacation. On Wednesday Norm gets his teeth removed. All week Nicole has band camp....and all next week as well. My two youngest wish to go to a local VBS this week. On Saturday I have Worship Team practice for Sunday's service. I may also have 4 dozen ears of corn to cut and freeze.
The next week is Nicole's band camp plus I have a Women's picnic on Wednesday and a Booster Meeting on Thursday. Norm also has a Frat meeting on Thursday and on Friday night is Parent's night at Band Camp. There is also kindergarten orientation in there somewhere.....
The following week is Nicole's freshman orientation, two days to tour the high school and Spirit Night with the band.
Our schools start the last Monday in August...although Lexi only goes about 90 minutes the first day......
We have yet to get soccer schedules for Lexi or Tyler......
There is an Open House at Norm's fire house our booster is working on this month too.
And somewhere in there I need to finish school shopping although I have most of stuff now.... plus shirts for my job. Speaking of which, I heard a rumor there may be a p/t opening coming up but am waiting on confirmation on that before letting them know I am interested.
I feel tired just thinking about it!
While I am at it, I would like to promote my friend, Janet, who recently published her first book which I have not had a chance to read yet.....I knew her waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when she was voted the quietest in our high school class. In fact I knew her since elementary school. We didn't go to the same elem. school but ran into each other at other places. Janet, kudos on your book!
My kids found this baby bird they "rescued" and thought I should do something about..... I made them put it back in the yard.....and momma bird was soon back looking for it.

At a local fair on Sunday

We stopped at inlaws on the way home.

Finally heading home.

We had to get rid of our cat. She had been struggling with being litter trained and I put up with the smell so long because it's Nicole cat but finally decided she needed to go outside.... well, my neighbor threatened to trap and dispose of the cat so we took it to a friend's house to keep it out of his hands.
Norm has been having some medical issues lately..... the man who doesn't do doctors and dntists finally had to cease his boycott when he got a couple of infected teeth. The dentist sent him to the oral surgeon who sent him to the family doctor to get something done about his blood pressure which was WAY too high before they would remove his teeth..... Norm couldn't believe how quickly the b/p med worked. Hoping it continues to work. Next week he gets his teeth removed at the oral surgeon.
A recent family photo

A loacl day care recently visited dh's firehouse. Here is dh with the lass in front of the engine.

Dh showing off his gear for the class. He wanted to send pics for his fire company website but told me I didn't need to send them that one. I told him, "Oh, I didn't take that for THEM anyway!"

Nicole and I had gotten this funny idea for an advertisement but unfortunately this was the only picture we could get because Lexi and Tyler were laughing so hard.

Tyler was sad to discover that his stuffed chocolate lab, also named Coby, was accidently left at camp after discovering a hole in the one bag. A friend from church brought him back this weekend.
And in more news..... I got the job I had interviewed for so now I will become an elite member of the working class..... or is that a member of an elite working class?
It wasn't the position I hoped for, but I got my foot in the door and it looks hopefull for further employment. I am now a substitute for food service at our local school district. I heard last year that the subs actually had work coming out of their ears so it would be nice to have 2-3 days a week at least to try and get ahead in finances. I had wanted a job with the district to coincide with my kids' days off.
It's really weird because I got two letters from the district this week......each inspiring their own mix of emotions. The first was for Lexi for kindergarten orientation. That made me sad that my baby was going to school....my last one.
The other was for Nicole for freshman orientation to high school..... that just made me feel old!
Anyway, this year will be a very different one, to say the least. I guess I better just buckle up and enjoy the ride!
My grandfather on my mom's side is the only grandfather I have left and the kids only great grandfather. He recently had fallen and we went to visit him on Tuesday. Lexi was charming him and all the other elderly ladies there. This was with Norm's phone.

At a parade in a nearby town.....

We picked Nicole up from camp on Friday the fourth. Seems like she spent a lot of time involved with prank on other staffers.

Norm spied this as we were leavingcamp.
Norm's fire company went to assist at a local firworks display. The kids and I stayed home. The girls went to bed after Nicole had been to a pool party and Ty and I watched them on TV.

Yes, that is an Amish boy in fire co. garb........
Norm, Lexi and I

We took Tyler and Nicole to camp today...each armed with suff to prank each other as well as others...... in fact Nicole had bought some really large plastic flowers to stick in the boy Krew's bathroom toilets. I sent along som plastic wrap with Ty with instructions how to wrap the toilet seat in his sister's bathroom..... with his counselor's permission. Of course also after his sister goes through the prank of resenting her brother with a cupcake with frosting laced with salt.

So it's just Norm, Lexi and I until Friday... trying to find things for Lexi to do.....
