Nor-Easter Coming!

  • Prayer request or Praise: My sister and bil: Les and Glenda
  • Kid~N~Kritter Kuties: Lexi was upset after preschool on Friday. I asked why and she said, "All my friends have chimneys." I then showed her our chimney and said, See, Now Santa can come to our house too!" Whew! What a relief! LOL
  • Today I am thankful for: The van was an easy fix...see todays post

Actually I think it will be more ice than snow.  They are expecting snow north of us.  We were supposed to have a storm on Thursday but that didn't amount to much.  Not sure, with the ice, if we will be having church tomorrow.

Ty's basketball team lost today but I was glad he took the shot when he had a chance to today.  Last time he didn't and then they wouldn't throw the ball to him.

My dad was here today to rewire and put a new thermostat on the furnace.  Hopefully that will stay working.  He also brought over a new electric train for Tyler.    We built a Lego Train Station and added one of my glass firehouses and a few other props.  Ty's been wanting a train for a long time and my pareents got a great deal on it.

Nicole tried out for the school high school musical, Big".  They needed younger people for it so they gave the kids from the middle school a chance.  Nicole did quite well, but she is tall and they need short people so I don't know how well singing great will work for her but I was surprised at how well she did for only getting the music two hours in advance.  Some of the kids had it a day or so and either sang flat or off beat.  Nicole is really tall like me so it may be a detriment to her.  I told her at least it will give her  a taste and maybe the director will remember her next year when she is in the high school.  One thing she has going is she can project her voice.  A lot of the kids you could barely hear with a mike.  Nicole stood a little away and you could hear her really well at the back where I was sitting.  One of the moms couldn't believe she had only just gotten her music. Well, enough bragging.

No, I want to brag some more..... Lexi has her play at her preschool and she told us she plays Mary, mother of Jesus.  Whether that is true, I don't know, but I like to tell people my daughter has a leading role in a play.... I just won't mention that it is a non-speaking role with just about as much limelight as all the other characters.

Nicole got her awrd on Monday.  She put half in the bank and used the rest on Christmas presents for her dad and Tyler.

I cut Ty's hair today.  It was getting a little long and unruly. I did like it longer but I don't like unruly hair.  But his friends at basketball were commenting about it.  I decided to try something different.  I left the hair on top a little longer than the sides and back.  He looks cute in it..... hopefully it won't inspire the girls to go after him again.  I already had one girl tell his friend Ty was attractive.

Had another Job moment on Thursday during the bad weather.  Was taking some friends kids home in the bad weather at the early dismissal when the steering went out.  Managed to get to the shop where I discovered my car is the type where if you hit a puddle, a belt comes off affecting the steering, the alternator, the water pump and who knows what else.  We can spend over $350 to hopefully not have it happen again but we don't have that....so the mechanic said to stay out of the puddle and added with a laugh that he knew in our town, that was impossible... I told him that was a fine thing to tell someone who lives on a street that floods quickly.    Well, I guess we should avoid major trips in it, huh? I was glad it was something that could be fixed easily.
